This painting was captured while on a Plein air group paint out at the Galisteo Nature Preserve just outside Santa Fe, NM. As I was walking up a trail seeking a subject to paint, I looked towards the north, away from the smoke filled skies from Canada’s summer fires consuming our southern horizon and saw a beautiful adobe home perched on the juniper covered hillside. With the morning sun offering some nice soft shadows, I was able to capture a little bit of the Galisteo Summer Blues of our beautiful New Mexico skies.
